Wade Hampton High School’s newly hired athletic director and head football coach, Dr. Clinton L. (Jerry) Brown spoke to the Hampton Rotary Club and enlightened the club on his expectations for the athletic program for the next few years.  In his comments, he attributes his road to success to his faith and a lot of hard work.  He stated that conditioning of the players and attitude were key.  If the score board isn’t in your favor, something was not done correctly.  And yes, they play to win.Jerry Brown

August 24th – Rotary Club meets at Hampton Museum for tour..

The Rotary Club was given a wonderful tour of the Hampton County Museum by the director and some of the members of the Historical Society.  This was my first visit to the museum and I have to say, you need to take the time (and take your children) to see this exquisite exhibit of our history displayed here.  Stop by and see the arrowheads, clothing, uniforms and artifacts displayed by many volunteers that have made this possible!  Thursday and Sunday at specific times            702 First St. West.,  Hampton   Call 803-943-5484  for the hours (posted on the door as well)

Special thanks to Mrs. LaClaire Laffitte,  President of the Hampton County Historical Society Board

Monday, March 20th Speaker Tony Myers, McDonald’s Franchise Owner

One of our very own Rotarians spoke at our meeting on Monday and shared his fascinating experience in the McDonald’s Franchise business.  Starting off in the McDonald’s business at the age of 15, he is now the owner of the McDonald’s in Hampton, Ridgeland and Point South (Yemassee).  This is a family operated business with his wife Sheila, his daughter Angela and son Jones managing his many locations.
