April 15th, – Rotary Members met at the Hampton County Emergency Services Office

The Rotarians of the Hampton County Club met at the EMS building for a tour  hosted by Chris Altman, Director.

Chris Altman gave us a tour of the EMS system that is now in place for our county.   One of which is state of the art.

We were able to see the emergency system in action and tour the ambulances that are equipped to handle any emergency needed when sent out on a call.

March 11, 2019 Pig Out for CART!

Pig Out day on March 11, 2019! Our CART goal for the event was $200, and we raised $582.51!!!! Great job!  The total raised will be sent to the CART fund in honor of Roger Ackerman, one of the Rotarians who began CART back in 1995.

A big thanks to Debbie Elrod for providing the pigs and coming up with the fundraiser, Joseph for encouraging the club to honor Roger Ackerman, and to Mary Ann for keeping up with all of the heavy pigs and counting all the money!! Great team effort!Pig Out for CART

March 25th, 2019 – Guest Speaker, Liz Glover

Liz Glover visited the Hampton County Rotary meeting on March 25, 2019, to speak to the club about her journey with human trafficking victims. She and her husband, founders of Be Nice Corp in Varnville, SC are working to empower individuals in the LowCountry by teaching them a trade, inevitably providing them an escape from a lack of opportunity. Liz has a true passion for helping others, which resonated while she spoke. Her hope is that others will be sparked to find a way to help those in need. Coach Jerry Brown speaks at Rotary Meeting Wade Hampton High School’s newly hired athletic director and head football coach, Dr. Clinton L. (Jerry) Brown spoke to the Hampton Rotary Club and enlightened the club on his expectations for the athletic program for the next few years. In his comments, he attributes his road to success to his faith and a lot of hard work. He stated that conditioning of the players and attitude were key. If the score board isn’t in your favor, something was not done correctly. And yes, they play to win.

Epilepsy Awareness – Mary Ann Watson

Mary Ann Watson, one of our very own Rotarian’s, shares her personal experience with Epilepsy and how it has affected her family.  Mary Ann and David have  a 29 year old son that was diagnosed at the age of 3 1/2.  She shared their journey with Sean through the years and the struggles and challenges that epilepsy brings.
